StayblCam Delivery Update - (Good news, including pics and manufacturing video!)
– Mon, Jan 12, 2015 at 10:23:51 PM
Hello!
Earlier today - I promised to send out another update, since we finally have some news to report from manufacturing.
And – they are good news.. :-)
Overmold resin problem resolved!
First and foremost - the overmold resin problem has been resolved! If you remember, right before Christmas, we ran into some issues with the resin material used in our mobile phone adapter. This prevented the plastics from sticking together, and we had to delay manufacturing until a new compound was found. Well – that problem has now been resolved, and we have the material that works!
Full sail ahead in production and final assembly!
So finally now, after a long wait - molding and assembly is underway.
You can see it for yourself in the below video and photos.
StayblCam Parts Molding and Quality Inspection:
Units being completed for final assembly and packing on the assembly line:
The goal right now is to have several hundred of these completed now by mid-week, next week - so that they be taken directly to our fulfillment warehouse. From there, worldwide shipping will begin as soon as these units arrive! By the following week, we should be up to a few thousand completed and ready-to-ship units...
Factory visit and packaging/shipping update coming next week!
I will personally be visiting the facility in California here this upcoming Tuesday, Jan 13th. Expect another update from me shortly thereafter, with my first-hand report after a tour of the facility, with our very own videos and photos of StayblCam units being prepared. :-) I am beyond excited for this, as it has been a long wait that is finally over.
A few words of appreciation
I am very thankful to our project manager and dedicated staff at our manufacturing facility, who have really gone above and beyond to push this through as fast as possible. They (and I) have had many a sleepless night worrying about how we could get all the StayblCam units completed and sent out to everyone out there who is eagerly waiting.
Also - I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all those of you who have remained positive and supportive of us from day one, and continued to remain that way to this very day without throwing negativity and harsh words our way. Let me tell you, manufacturing a multi-component product for mass market with nearly no way to affect the delivery of it is not for the faint of heart) - but the majority of you who have had a positive attitude all along - have still stood by us despite what I know has been some frustrating delays after another. Fortunately, there are people like you who believe in someone's dream - and who understands how hard it can be without judging. To you, I am forever grateful. You were the ones who helped us through all this.
My new promise to you all..
I promise to send out more frequent updates in the near future from now on as we are nearing our shipping date, even if there is not always something big to report. :-)
Thank you! Eskil
Holiday Season StayblCam Update
– Wed, Jan 07, 2015 at 05:24:08 PM
Hey everyone!
The holiday season is here, and we’re only a few days away from Christmas. Some of you have asked us more lately if we will be ready to ship out StayblCams in time for Christmas. And of course – many of you wonder when they can get their hands on the StayblCam.
In our previous updates through the end of fall, and up until just a few a weeks ago – it really did seem as if we could be fully ready to begin delivery in time for the the holidays.
This was despite a previous problem we had encountered with a mismatched component from a third-party supplier – which cost us another setback (and more money), having to lathe thousands of these parts by hand in a machine shop.
Well that problem was taken care of, and everything looked very optimistic! I was even scheduled to make a visit to our manufacturing facility tomorrow, December 23rd – to oversee the assembly and packing of the first batch of units to be shipped out by the end of this week.
Then it turns out, the resin material that was delivered to our facility for doing the mobile phone adapter grip – refuses to stick to our molded plastic adapter! This is beyond frustrating..
Here we are, ready to go – and the resin, called Versaflex, just will not work with our ABS plastic formula used in the mold. I have to give credit to our guys at manufacturing for working VERY hard on this. They are just as frustrated as I am that we have had these setbacks. A ton of work has gone into getting this right – and they WILL get it right.
But as hard as is it for me to send out yet another “delay” update like this one…. well, we simply cannot ship out a StayblCam where the mobile adapter grip falls off!
Just see the video below to see what we are dealing with… This would simply cause phones to fall out of the grip – and be a quality and PR nightmare.
Here is our current problem, with a video shot this afternoon:
So until this is corrected with the proper resin compound - I am very sorry we can't make it for holiday shipments. But I promise to post another update as soon as we have something more definite set for a delivery date here shortly.
Thank you for the ongoing patience, constant understanding, and support!
Happy Holidays to all of you from us here!

StayblCam Manufacturing and Assembly Update
over 11 years ago
– Tue, Dec 23, 2014 at 07:31:28 AM
Hey everyone,
Once again we finally have some more news to report on the status of manufacturing, packing, and shipments of the StayblCam.
Here is what’s been going on since the last update we posted recently;
The molds are already in place in the injection molding machinery at our facility in California, and is undergoing final testing this week. The injection molding has gone well, and there are no more issues with the molds!
However, upon assembling the elongated ‘tube’ shaped parts of the StayblCam with two other components – it was discovered that they do not fit together properly in product assembly. We had initially received a bad batch of this part from a third-party supplier, but due to poor packaging – that shipment was damaged, with really bad scratch marks and chipping to the plastic. So – another batch was ordered and sent to the facility. This time, the shipment was not damaged – but the supplier had delivered us a slightly different measurement of its inner diameters. This is what is now causing the new batch not to fit properly with the injection molded components.
Our engineering team has tried to find a workaround solution, but what will most likely happen is that we will demand yet another batch of this component from the supplier – expedited to us so that there will be no more delays in the assembly.
To sum things up;
• The molds are in place and ready
• Inserts and small parts are ready
• Packaging/printing is done and delivered
• Also – our warehouse/fulfillment center is ready and waiting for the first truckload of StayblCam units
• We are now just waiting for an expedited re-order of only ONE component of the StayblCam, so that we can kickstart the assembly line!
I am sorry again for the wait and delays, but we and our manufacturing team are working very hard on this every single to make sure we soon reach our goal.
Thanks again to all of you for your understanding and patience,
Eskil

Hey everyone!
My apologies for the wait between part 1 and 2 of this update. There were no definite news changes as we had hoped when we wrote the last update (part 1), but now we can finally send out another update!
This time, I wanted to make it a bit personal - and talk to you on camera. And as you will learn from watching the video update below, I've got some pretty exiting news about how close we are to delivery. Watch the video now:
Thanks for watching!
P.S. If you have sent us an e-mail or message without receiving a response - don't worry, we will get back to you. We are NOT ignoring you. :)
