Time for another update...

Hey everyone! I know it has been quite some time now since our last update here, and for that I apologize. These last couple of months have gone by so fast, it honestly feels like just a couple of weeks since I wrote that last update! Wow, time sure flies fast…

Anyway – at this point, it appears that pretty much everyone has received their StayblCam now (with a handful of exceptions which we have addressed individually). This is an achievement I am very proud of. Reception of the usability and function of the StayblCam has been great too – which really makes me happy! The StayblCam is already being used to film everything from dog videos to races, events, and festivals all over the world.

To those of you have not yet been in touch with us via email about lost shipments or defect units – please get in touch with us at [email protected] so that we can sort out the problem for you. Around a month ago, we moved our support over to ZenDesk, and our average response time has rapidly increased for the better! :) As I said last time - we wholeheartedly stand 100% behind the quality of our product, and any faulty unit delivered is unacceptable.

Status of rewards and extras – Update

Last time, I also wrote about the delayed status of some of the extras and addons that have not been shipped out yet.

These include;

• The StayblCam carrying case
• 360 Degree Pivot Head
• Reverse Bracket
• Film Clapper
• DSLR Support & Tripod

It honestly bothers me that we have not been able to deliver these yet, but I can assure all of you this much; They WILL be shipped out and delivered. Every single one of them, to every single person who is waiting for them. Why is it taking so long? Well there are various reasons for that, and if I go into detail about each one, I will only get accused of making up excuses – but the short version of it is that they simply are not ready to ship from our fulfillment center yet.

It has been decided that the shipments of all the extras and rewards will take place simultaneously in one large batch (similarly to how we did it with the large mass-shipment of the StayblCam this winter). So yes, they WILL be coming. We would never try to “forget” or ignore these, as they are very much part of the pledges that all of you took part in, and ordered. I am all about integrity and keeping my word – and just like I kept my word about delivering the StayblCam – you also have my word that all the appropriate extras will go out to each backer.

Thanks once again to all of you who are supporting us, and sending us positive feedback about the StayblCam via email and social media. It really means a lot :-)

Shipping Begins Next Week!!

Yes - you read that right! :-)

As of next week, we are beginning to ship out StayblCam units all over the world to everyone who has backed us and pre-ordered. This will include your pledge rewards as well - with the minor exception of the carrying case (more on that soon).

As you can see from the picture below, hundreds of 100% completed packing boxes are all ready to go onto pallets:

Our fulfillment center picks up the first truckload this Friday, the 16th. The shipment gets checked in to inventory at our fulfillment center on Monday the 19th. From then, we have been told it should take a maximum of 4 days (but possibly less) for them to actually ship each and every one of those units out. 

Factory Tour - Photos and Video!

Yesterday, I personally visited the StayblCam manufacturing facility in California and got to see first-hand how the product is coming together, being molded, assembled, quality checked, and packaged for shipments. This was an incredibly rewarding feeling - and I put together a short video for you guys here to see.

(the video quality is not the best, as it was filmed by someone who was NOT using the StayblCam ironically - hah) :-)

Update on additional rewards and addons..

Hey everyone, I wanted to touch base again with all of you and let you know what the status is of some of the stretch goals and rewards.

Current status of the order shipment queue

Close to 1000 units have now been shipped out worldwide :-) and both our manufacturing and fulfillment are working hard to get through our backorder queue. If you still haven’t received your StayblCam or shipment confirmation email - please don’t worry. We are still working through the backorders, and we WILL get to each and every one of your orders!

Please also be sure to double-check your delivery address info here: https://stayblcam.backerkit.com/ If you have received an “Order Shipped” email, but without a tracking number – we cannot provide this for you.

Received a faulty unit? We will replace it for free!

Due to a couple of minor issues with manufacturing, a very limited set of units appear to have passed quality control and shipped with some defects. These were from the first day of manufacturing, and somehow not assembled properly to our specifications. Only a couple of backers seem to have been affected by this – but I want you to know that we will take care of this right away.

So if you received a defect StayblCam unit – please write us directly at [email protected], and we will assist you with getting a replacement unit sent back to you free of charge. (Defect units must be returned to us, but we will pay for return shipping).

We wholeheartedly stand 100% behind the quality of our product, and any faulty unit delivered is unacceptable.

Status of rewards and extras

The StayblCam carrying case

Some of you have asked what happened to the StayblCam carrying case that we said would be included to all backers. I can assure you that the carrying case will get shipped out separately as soon as we have sorted out some concerns we had with the suppliers for these. Our first suppliers fell through, and we’re trying to get an expedited order with another supplier who can get these done for us properly.

360 Degree Pivot head

Like the carrying case, this was another reward that we couldn’t get done in time for shipment due to poor experience with suppliers. We finally found a great supplier, and these are actually on the way to our warehouse and will be shipped out separately once they get scanned into the fulfillment inventory.

Reverse bracket

Expected ship time for these is March/April. With so much of our focus and energy having been devoted to getting the StayblCam ready for the past several months, development of this and a few other products had to be postponed until we could officially ship the main product.

Film clapper

For this particular item, we have no one to blame but ourselves, as we did not get these ordered yet. But as with everything else here - those of you who are still waiting for it - you WILL get it. Just please give us some time to get them taken care of :-)

DSLR support & Tripod

The DSLR camera support is in the prototyping stage, and will be an addon accessory for the StayblCam! This means, you won’t have to get a separate StayblCam altogether just to get DSLR support, or support for heavier cameras. We should soon have some renderings ready for the DSLR support accessory, which we’re very excited about. We’re shooting for an April/May estimated timeframe for this.

Another thing we’re excited about is the upcoming StayblCam tripod. It will be unlike anything you have never seen before – and it will also work as a mini-tripod for any other camera if you want to use it separate from the StayblCam for regular photos, etc. Our goal is to have the tripod ready by the time the DSLR support launches sometime in April/May.

StayblCam Units are Shipping!!

The day has finally come. Earlier today, the first StayblCam units and pledge rewards were leaving our fulfillment center today by the hundreds! Just over 60 countries are represented among the backers and pre-orders.

Please note; If you haven't received your shipping confirmation email with a tracking code quite yet, please do not worry. Just give it a little more time. Every single backer will get their shipment - 100% guaranteed. Please keep in mind that our manufacturing still has to now catch up with all backorders, and that our fulfillment center will process these as soon as they get delivered into inventory - and in the order they were received.
We will keep running these shipments this week, next week, and the week after that.

I am SO proud and excited for what all of you, and we - accomplished thanks to this Kickstarter campaign. I always said that we WILL deliver. And now - we are indeed delivering. :-)

Stay tuned for several updates in the days to come. We have news about some of the rewards, the extras, and also a little surprise for everyone :-)
